Constitutional Law Protecting Human Rights and Civil Liberties

Constitutional Law

Constitutional law often deals with making rules about making rules – that is, putting rules in place that create order, set legal precedence and protect the rules of society in which we live by. Human rights and civil liberties form a crucial part of our nation’s values. They are fought for every day, and challenged every day. Discrimination based upon race, ethnicity, religion, age and gender goes against the laws, and our courts protect individuals who have been victims of such practices. There are also specific statutes, for example, The American Disabilities Act, which provides protection for those of us who have physical or mental disabilities and handicaps. Many large employers must provide work duties to those who are disabled, and must accommodate patrons or visitors of their business with safe facilities and features, like handicap bathroom stalls, handicap parking, and wheelchair ramps.

In addition to the protection of customers and visitors to a business, these laws extend to protect workers of businesses who have been discriminated against because of their age, gender, race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Blake Bailey has a firm understanding of the interpretation of these laws, and knows how to apply them for clients who have been victims of a violation of their basic human rights.
